Matching funds: SNAP, WIC & FMNP

SNAP, formerly food stamps, is a federal program administered by the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance.

Our Belmont Farmers’ Market matches SNAP dollars up to $25 per shopper per Market day. In 2016, we matched $1887 – giving shoppers that much extra to spend on fresh, local produce and other products.

In 2011, BFC received a $2000 grant from the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources and the Department of Transitional Assistance to establish the program. We continued this project with support from members of our community.

We also match WIC and Senior FMNP coupons, and participate in the HIP program. In those cases, vendors double the amount of the coupons, and we reimburse them for the matching amount. See details on our matching program.

We are committed to helping SNAP, WIC and Senior FMNP participants obtain fresh local products. But we need your help: Donate to the Collaborative.  Make a secure donation and support programs like this.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
